When a user takes a photo, Office Lens automatically detects the edges of the document, crops the image, and then straightens, sharpens, and cleans up the visual, eliminating glare and correcting for perspective, even if the photo was taken at an angle. This ensures the final digitized copy is clear and professional-looking. For parents and students focused on schoolwork, this feature is invaluable for quickly digitizing pages of notes or complex diagrams from a classroom whiteboard without the need for manual cleanup. Beyond simply capturing an image, Office Lens offers robust conversion capabilities. It utilizes powerful Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to recognize printed and, in many cases, handwritten text within the image.
